Synodiporia: The Digital Frontier Workspace

Miscellaneous Notes
  • His true Purpose: DEFEND THE FUTURE OF THE GRID, AND ITS PROCESS

  • Despite his stiff, formal demeanor and vast knowledge, he is actually rather emotionally immature and thus having to deal with FEELINGS about the SAGE even as he gears up to try and fulfill his Purpose as much as possible

  • He worshipped and loved the SAGE above everything, something he is now having to deal with due to the looming potential of conflict between his feelings (COME BACK SAGE) and SAGE-given Purpose (DEFEND THE GRID)

  • Currently he has convinced himself that recovering the SAGE is TOTALLY a legit first step in figuring out how best to Defend the Grid, given its current post-apocalyptic state. YES, THIS IS A TOTALLY LOGICAL DECISION, THAT IS NOT DRIVEN BY EMOTION IN ANY WAY.

  • Because of the conflict between his emotions and Purpose, he is SUPER defensive about ANY implication that he just wants to find the SAGE in order to free him. NO THIS IS A TOTALLY LEGIT FIRST MOVE!!! But even as he tries to psych himself up to be ready for the prospect of maintaining SAGE’s confinement he is unsure if he could really go through with it once he sees SAGE.

  • Part of his desire to recover the SAGE is that he is really floundering, between meeting the programs now in the Grid, having to interface with them, struggling to sort out how best to fulfill his Purpose. He doesn't know that he's up to the task he's been given and desperately wants SAGE back to help him figure out what to do. Even though SAGE would probably just tell him (kindly) to figure it out himself.

  • He is deeply, DEEPLY suspicious of any and all Users or User-agents (LIKE THE VARIABLES /EYES SUSPICIOUSLY) after what they did to SAGE. However the idea that SAGE’s leadership among the Cryptos was just part of some game is something that disturbs and frightens him deeply and he will be ignoring it as much as possible (though that was just colloquial, surely...)

  • In fights, he's very much a mage-y type. Creating stuff to confine/harm whatever's attacking him. Despite his skinny build he is very good at close quarters combat, but ultimately made more for long-term manipulation preservation, as opposed to patrolling and killing Automata that look at him funny preservation.

  • Generally playing cards VERY close to his chest, even where other Cryptos are concerned. He KNOWS that SAGE still exists, but that is on a need to know basis. He'll be using vague hints and memories to hopefully herd people in the right direction.

  • Was created after SAGE had led the Cryptos to the Grid. The Grid is all Isa ever knew, and SAGE was the most important person in Isa's life, creator and mentor and (from a distance) beloved. The life of solitary study and contemplation is all he knew either -- aside from a brief period where SAGE observed him closely right after creation to make sure he was okay, Isa's been mostly on his own.
